After looking around the first two floors of the "Merry and Bright" themed Bingham-Waggoner Estate Mansion, relax in the 3rd floor tea room, enjoying cookies and hot spiced tea or coffee.

The tour includes a visit to the Carriage House Boutique for holiday shopping. There is never any sales tax in the Boutique and BWEHS members always receive a 20% discount.
 
The Estate is open November 29 through December 30, with the exception of December 23, 24, and 25.

Vaile Mansion Vaile Mansion

"Victorian Christmas Magic" will be celebrated at the elegant Vaile Mansion. With marble fireplaces and crystal chandeliers decorated in the splendor of a winter wonderland, more than 75 decorated trees, thousands of lights, and Yuletide scenes, all bringing this 1881 Victorian mansion to life.

“Celebrating a Frontier Christmas” The 1859 Jail Museum will feature simple and natural décor, presenting the simplicity of a frontier life style around Christmas – time. The pre Civil War-era jail is depicted as sparse and typical of that time.

The 1859 Jail Museum is located 217 North Main in Independence.

Visit the historic 1879 train depot with its collection of nutcrackers, as well as holiday décor both inside and outside. Admission is free; donations willingly accepted.

Open Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 29, 30 and Dec. 1; Friday & Saturdays 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM and Sundays 12:30 – 4:30 PM until Christmas.
