Independence Events Center

The new Independence Events Center, home of the Missouri Mavericks CHL team and Missouri Comets MISL indoor soccer team, will host a variety of sports and entertainment events including concerts, trade shows, high school sporting events, festivals, community ceremonies and family shows. This 131,972 square foot multi-purpose facility features a 75,000 square foot arena bowl with 5,800 fixed seats, 25 luxury suites, a bar/grill and a community ice rink. A bonus feature is 2000 free paved parking spaces.

Community Ice Rink
Destined to be one of the finest ice skating facilities in the Midwest, the Independence Events Center Community Ice Rink offers a wide variety of programs including public skating, learn-to-skate classes, figure skating, hockey, special events, birthday parties and private rentals. The facility also hosts a full service concession stand, skate sharpening services and a Pro Skate Shop for all your skating equipment, gear and apparel needs.

The Powerhouse Theater, inside the Sermon Center, is home to City Theatre, Encore Theatre and the Children’s Performing Theater. Open May, 2009, this 18-hole championship course is the only Greg Norman Signature Design in Missouri, with design traits that include creative bunkering and landscape accents that pay homage to some of the great courses in the world. Winterstone Golf Course Winterstone Golf Course

The course is named after Winter-set, the limestone formation underground. This 18 hole, par 72 championship course, designed by Craig Schreiner, features rolling slopes to steep terrain, mature trees, and magnificent views. Twin lakes and creeks bring water into play on seven holes. WinterStone offers "core golf," with all the holes running contiguous to each other, unobstructed by housing developments.

Walking Trails

Little Blue Trace Walking Trail Little Blue Trace Walking Trail

Little Blue Trace Walking Trail is accessible from Hartman Heritage Center (I-70 and Little Blue Expressway) and extends north to Blue Mills Road (just north of 24 Highway). The pedestrian and bike trails are approximately 10 miles long.
