Family Fun Days Awarded MHC Grant
The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) has awarded a grant of $2,468 to the Friends the National Frontier Trails Museum to support Family Fun Days Being History Explorers! this summer, June 13, July 11 and August 8.
Each Family Fun Day has a specific theme:
June 13 - Early Explorers and American Indians featuring a mountain man encampment and demonstrations, Sac and Fox Nation display from MHC, games, crafts, and flute music.
July11 - Pioneer Living Skills with a wide variety of craft demonstrations, dancers and activities.
August 8 - Civil War in Independence with battle reenactments, a Civil War encampment, crafts, and a Trouble on the Boarder marionette show presented by the Puppetry Arts Institute.
The MHC is the only state-wide agency in Missouri devoted exclusively to humanities education for citizens of all ages. It has served as a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities since 1971.
