FRANNIE FRANKS COFFEE CAKES: MOVE OVER BETTY CROCKER
Envision a woman in a polka-dot dress, pearls and heels baking like only a woman in a polka-dot dress, pearls and heels can. Ahhh...you can almost spell the cinnamon-y goodness. That was the real-life Frannie.
Today, Frannie's youngest daughter-Jill McEnroe-whips up homemade coffee cakes like a made-for-TV mom at her business, Frannie Franks Coffee Cakes.
Jill always had this dream in her heart, Frannie's vintage recipe book and a delicious legacy to fulfill, but it took Uncle Sam's intervention for Jill to make the leap to foodpreneur.
You see, Jill's son was considering a stint in the Air Force, just like his great-grandfather. But Jill had other ideas. She recruited him to help start the family business instead. And just like that, Frannie Franks Coffee Cakes (the "Franks" derived from the veteran great-grandpa himself) was born in June 2011.Now Frannie's pearl-clad baking legacy lives on right here in Independence.
