Waterfall Park near Bass Pro Shops and the New Stoney Creek Inn offers a great walking and biking trail, and with the park right there it makes for a day of exercise that the whole family can enjoy!
Waterfall Park is the connecting point of the Little Blue Trace Trail. these trails are a cyclist's dream, offering secluded and scenic biking while traveling along the river. This newly established trail follows the course of the Little Blue River for 11 miles through the Little Blue Trace Nature Reserve. The park includes picnic tables, shelters and playing fields.
In addition to the Little Blue Trace Trail, Rock Creek Trail offers a 10-foot wide crushed stone surface that travel alongside Rock Creek in western Independence. It crosses the creek four times and connects Rotary park just south of 23rd Street to Country Club Park near Norton Ave and 30th Street. Once inside each park the trail turns to asphalt and loops around the park's perimeter.
